Mahalia Zellmer

Mahalia Zellmer, originally from Iowa, received her training at Ballet Quad Cities School of Dance studying ballet, modern, jazz, tap, contemporary, African and Indian dance. With BQCSD she has been featured as a soloist in “Les Sylphides”, “Western Symphony”, “La Bayadère”, and most recently as “Myrtha” in “Giselle.” As a young student, she performed in Artistic Director Courtney Lyon's  “The Nutcracker,” eventually earning corps de ballet roles with Ballet Quad Cities in "Alice in Wonderland”  "Peter and the Wolf", and "Paris en Pointe” while still in high school.  She has received additional training at the Glenda Brown Choreography Project in the Kansas City, MO.  Mahalia graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 2019. She had a wonderful time last season getting to dance with the company and getting to see works of choreography come to life.  She can't wait to see what her second year as a trainee will bring!
