Emily Kate Long began her dance education in South Bend, Indiana with Kimmary Williams and Jacob Rice. She graduated in 2007 from Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School's Schenley Program, followed by two years as a trainee with Milwaukee Ballet.
Emily Kate has been a member of Ballet Quad Cities since 2009. She has originated leading and ensemble roles in works by Courtney Lyon, Brian Enos, Domingo Rubio, Margaret Huling, Deanna Carter, and Simone Ferro. She appeared in Ballet Quad Cities’ performances at Ailey Citigroup Theater in New York City in 2010 and at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center in Cedar Falls, IA in 2015. In the spring of 2016, She choreographed Petrushka for BQC’s “Russian Fairy Tales.” Additionally, Emily Kate is on the faculty of Ballet Quad Cities School of Dance where she teaches ballet, pointe, conditioning, choreography, and repertoire classes.
