Mica Ward
Mica Ward, originally from Lockport, Illinois, began her training at The Academy of Dance Arts under the direction of Sherry Moray, Irina Starovoitova, and Jennifer Grapes. Mica began her professional career at age 17 with The Albany Berkshire Ballet, where she toured Madeline Cantarella Culpo's rendition of The Nutcracker. Mica then joined the Montgomery Ballet in 2012 under the direction of Darren McIntyre. During her time working with Mr. McIntyre, she performed some of her favorite roles including, Pas de Trois in Swan Lake, one of the Wilis in Act II Giselle, Clara in The Nutcracker, as well as leading roles in Flower Festival in Genzano and Le Spectre de la Rose. She was also featured in The Games We Play, by Australian choreographer Timothy O'Donnell. Mica then went on to join Ballet San Antonio for their 2015 season. During her time with Ballet San Antonio, she had the opportunity to perform in various works by Gerald Arpino, such as The Land of Snow, Waltz of the Flowers, and Viva Vivaldi, as well as Ben Stevenson's Swan Lake and Peter Anastos' Peter Pan. In 2017, Mica joined Ballet Quad Cities where she had the honor of being featured as a Vampire in Deanna Carter's Dracula, Arabian in The Nutcracker, and the Dormouse in Courtney Lyon's premiere of Alice in Wonderland. Mica looks forward to her second season with Ballet Quad Cities and all that it has to offer.
