Ryland Acree, a native of Virginia, started ballet at age nine, training with such teachers as
Peter Boal, Miguel Campaneria, Oliver Munoz, Kiyon Gaines, and Le Yin. He attended summer intensives at Boston Ballet, Orlando Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet on scholarship, joining the Professional Division of Pacific Northwest Ballet at age 17.
Ryland is a YAGP regional medal winner and NYC finalist. In the last two years, he has performed works by Robert Hill, Rolando Sarabia, Jean-Christophe Maillot, and George Balanchine. This is Ryland’s first season with Ballet Quad Cities, and he is eternally grateful to all of his teachers and directors who helped him achieve his lifelong dream of becoming a professional ballet dancer.
