Margaret King

Margaret King received her early ballet training based in the RAD and Cecchetti Methods from her mother, Cathleen Huling, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Margaret also trained with Western Michigan University’s Dance department and earned her BFA in Dance from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. She has spent summers studying with Grand Rapids Ballet, Cecchetti School and Boston Ballet. Margaret performed professionally with Dayton Ballet under the direction of Dermot Burke, and performed with Ballet Quad Cities from 2004-2014. She has acted as a lead artist for the Quad City Metro Youth Employment Program for the past five summers and continues to be an active participant in Ballet Quad Cities community outreach and educational programs. Mrs. King has been on faculty with Ballet Quad Cities School of Dance since 2004 teaching Ballet, Pointe and Modern and has directed the annual school performances since 2011. Mrs. King builds her classes on proper technique, discipline and the joy of dancing. She recently received the 2013 Llyod Schoeneman Community Impact Award for Arts Educator of the Year.
