Eleanor Ambler

Eleanor Ambler, originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts, received her early training from Nina Alonso at Fresh Pond Ballet. She went on to train at Boston Ballet School, Orlando Ballet School, and various summer programs including Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, American Ballet Theater in New York, Northern Ballet, and the b12 festival for contemporary dance. In 2016, she joined American Repertory Ballet’s trainee program, where she performed in The Nutcracker and danced the role of Georgiana Darcy in the world premiere of Douglas Martin’s Pride and Prejudice. In 2018, she became a company trainee with Festival Ballet Providence. While there, her repertory highlights included George Balanchine’s Serenade, Mihailo Djuric’s Nutcracker and Swan Lake, Yury Yanowsky’s Don Quixote Suite, and world premieres by Christopher L. Huggins, Courtney Asselin, and Louisa Mejur. Eleanor joined Ballet Quad Cities in 2021. Since then, she has enjoyed dancing in works by Courtney Lyon, Emily Kate Long, Lynn Bowman, Domingo Rubio, and Deepali Phanse. Favorite roles from her past two seasons with BQC include the Butterfly and Mirlitons in Courtney Lyon’s Nutcracker, Swan Lake Pas de Trois staged by Emily Kate Long after Marius Petipa, Gerald the Giraffe in Emily Kate Long’s Giraffes Can’t Dance, Juliet in Courtney Lyon’s Romeo + Juliet, and the March Hare in Courtney Lyon’s Alice in Wonderland. Eleanor is excited to continue sharing the art of dance with the amazing audiences and students of the Quad Cities this season!
