Emily Kate Long

Emily Kate Long received her early ballet training based in the Cecchetti Method and the Balanchine style at Southold Dance Theater in South Bend, Indiana. She continued her Balanchine training as well as jazz and character dance and dance composition at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School and Milwaukee Ballet II. Her teaching centers on the attention and energy given to the whole body to develop strong, expressive dancers. Ms Long’s teaching experience with Ballet Quad Cities School of Dance includes ballet, pointe, character, partnering, and repertoire for the Preparatory Division, as well as Adult Ballet, Creative Movement, and Ballet 1. She has attended the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet Teachers’ Workshop in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts Academy of Ballet’s Vaganova Teachers’ Seminar led by Rose Flachs and John White at Mount Holyoke College.
