Shasha Amaut

Sahsha Amaut is originally from West Chester, PA. where she began her training with Anastasia Babayeva and Denis Gronostayskiy, both graduates of the world-renowned Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow.  After three years of training in her hometown, Sahsha enrolled in the pre-professional program at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet under the teachings and syllabus developed by the late Marcia Dale Weary. At CPYB Sahsha performed as a corps Spanish dancer and a Candy Cane in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker. Sahsha began her professional career as a trainee with the American Repertory Ballet of Princeton, New Jersey. She danced in Snowflakes, Flowers and Marzipan in The Nutcracker and as a Peasant and a Willi in Giselle.  In 2020, Sahsha traveled to Paris to attend the Paris Marais Dance School under the direction of Maggie Boogaart and Ghislain DeCompreignac. There, she had the opportunity to study Graham, Horton, Limon, and Cunningham techniques and styles such as Contact Improvisation. She also attended workshops with choreographers Stephen Delattre, Sylvere Lamotte and Robert Swinston. Sahsha danced professionally at Springfield Ballet Company, where she performed as one of the Little Mermaid's sisters and a sea snake in The Little Mermaid. In the second act she was featured in a divertissement solo. In Springfield's Nutcracker, Sahsha was featured as the Ballerina Doll, a Snowflake, Cinnamon Hots and Candy Floss. She also performed Adam Sage's original choreography in his production Breaking Boundaries. Sahsha is excited for her first season with Ballet Quad Cities!
