Sierra DeYoung

Sierra DeYoung was born in Topeka, Kansas and began her training at Kansas City Ballet at the age of three. With the Kansas City Youth Ballet, she was featured in Le Corsaire, La Bayadère, Paquita, and The Sleeping Beauty Wedding Pas De Deux, as well as many new contemporary and modern works. As a student she performed alongside Kansas City Ballet company dancers in The Nutcracker and Giselle. Sierra attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City for one year, performing in works by Paula Weber and Gregory Dawson. While there, she had the opportunity to perform as a guest artist with Ballet Midwest, performing Mazurka soloist in Swan Lake and Juliet's Friend in Romeo and Juliet. She was then invited to join Oklahoma City Ballet’s Trainee Program, and after one season she was promoted to their second company. In 2019 she joined the Northwest Arkansas Ballet Theatre second company, where she performed featured roles in many of Ryan Jolicouer-Nye’s contemporary ballets and the premier of both his Nutcracker and Cinderella. In 2021 she joined Ballet Quad Cities and has enjoyed the many outreach programs BQC brings to the community. Sierra has had the pleasure of performing in Courtney Lyon’s Rite of Spring, Glassworks, Billy the Kid, and the Gryphon in Alice in Wonderland. Some other favorite rolls have been Concerto for Two Couples by Domingo Rubio and The Outing Club 1928 by Emily Kate Long. She is excited to return for her fourth season!
